IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A GOAT FROM US PLEASE READ BELOW(Towards the bottom of this page) WHAT A GOOD HOME WILL NEED TO PROVIDE.  DUE TO A PROBLEM IN THE PAST IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE WHAT I HAVE LISTED BELOW WE CANNOT AND WILL NOT SELL YOU ONE OF OUR GOATS.  THANK YOU!

I HAVE HAD MANY OF YOU ASK ME WHAT WILL BE NEEDED WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR KIDS SO I THOUGHT I WOULD LIST A FEW THINGS THAT THEY WILL HAVE WHEN THEY LEAVE OUR FARM. THEY WILL HAVE THEIR FIRST CDT SHOT AND A BOOSTER ALREADY GIVEN. THEY ALSO WILL BE WORMED, DELOUSED AND HAVE HAD A 5 DAY COCCIDIA TREATMENT.  FOR YOU FIRST TIME GOAT OWNERS I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO TRIM HOOVES, GIVE SHOTS AND DEWORM.  I ALSO HAND OUT A PACKET WITH SOME VERY USEFUL INFORMATION IN IT.  I PUT TOGETHER THIS PACKET TOGETHER MANY YEARS AGO AND HAVE CHANGED A FEW THINGS AS I HAVE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS.   I HAVE DONE THIS FOR  FIRST TIME GOAT OWNERS FOR ABOUT 20  YEARS AND  WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD SOMEONE TO SHOW ME THIS WHEN WE FIRST STARTED WITH THE GOATS, SO I AM HAPPY TO HELP OUT IN ANY WAY I CAN.   I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR NEW ADDITION TO YOUR FAMILY AS MUCH AS I DO.  I WANT TO MAKE THIS A HAPPY AND POSITIVE EXPERIENCE FOR YOU AND YOUR NEW BABIES.  I HAVE WATCHED THEM BE BORN AND HAVE HAD TO HELP MANY OF THEM COME IN TO THIS WORLD SO THEY ARE VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART.   IF FOR ANY REASON YOU UNABLE TO KEEP OR CARE  FOR YOUR BABIES I WOULD ASK THAT YOU CONTACT ME FIRST.  I WILL EITHER TAKE THEM BACK OR HELP YOU FIND NEW LOVING HOMES FOR THEM IF I CAN.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME THAT THEY NOT BE SOLD TO SOMEONE THAT WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF THEM THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE.  PLEASE READ SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON MY SALE POLICY AND PRICING PAGE.   IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT ME AT lazycreekacres@tds.net or call 715-965-2229.  THANKS!!

WE HAVE AN INSULATED AND HEATED BARN SO MY DOES WILL START TO KID IN JANUARY.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PUT ON A CONTACT LIST PLEASE LET ME KNOW.  I SIMPLY TAKE DOWN YOUR INFORMATION AND WHEN BABIES START TO ARRIVE I CONTACT YOU TO SEE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IF NOT I MOVE DOWN MY LIST.

ALL OF OUR BABIES WILL BE DISBUDDED.  IF YOU WANT HORNS AND REQUEST EARLY ENOUGH, I WILL NOT DISBUD THEM, HOWEVER IF THEY ARE LEFT WITH HORNS I DO REQUIRE THEY BE PAID IN FULL AT TIME OF REQUEST.

A GOOD HOME IS A MUST, SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A GOAT FROM US PLEASE BE WILLING TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING THINGS.

1) LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE

2) A CLEAN, DRY, PROTECTED SHELTER AND FRESH WATER DAILY.  I GIVE THEM FRESH WATER EVERYDAY EVEN IN THE WINTER.

3) FREE CHOICE QUALITY HAY DURING SUMMER AND WINTER.  THIS IS JUST MY OPINION BUT I TRULY BELIEVE THEY NEED HAY ALSO EVEN IF THEY HAVE ACCESS TO PASTURE. THEY WILL NOT EAT AS MUCH HAY IN THE SUMMER MONTHS IF THEY ALSO HAVE PASTURE BUT STILL FEEL IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THEM.  GOATS ARE BROWSERS NOT GRAZERS.  MAYBE SOME WOULD THINK THAT IS SPOILING THEM, WELL THAT IS WHY I HAVE THEM, TO SPOIL THEM.

4) FREE CHOICE LOOSE MINERAL.  I HAVE READ THAT MINERAL BLOCKS DON'T WORK VERY WELL FOR GOATS SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT TO MEET THEIR NUTRITIONAL NEEDS.

5) SECURE FENCING THAT KEEPS YOUR GOATS IN AND PREDATORS OUT

6) GRAIN FOR GROWING BABIES AND LACTATING DOES AND OTHERS AS NEEDED, I DO NOT GRAIN YEAR ROUND, I NORMALLY START A MONTH BEFORE BREEDING AND THEN CONTINUE UNTIL BABIES ARE WEANED.

7) ACCESS TO A VET THAT WILL TREAT GOATS

8) A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FREE OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL AND POISONOUS PLANTS

9) REGULAR HEALTH CARE AND DE-WORMING

10) ROUTINE HOOF TRIMMING

11) ANOTHER GOAT AS A COMPANION.  GOATS ARE HERD ANIMALS SO YOU NEED TO PURCHASE AT LEAST TWO, IF YOU DON'T HAVE GOATS ALREADY.  PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE JUST ONE GOAT FROM ANY FARM.  YOU WILL BE VERY UNHAPPY AND SO WILL YOUR GOAT.

12) IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED BABY GOATS FROM US PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM HOME AND PLACE THEM IN WITH BIGGER GOATS THAT MAY HARM THEM OR PUSH THEM AWAY FROM FOOD!!!!  DO NOT ASSUME THEY ARE GETTING TO THE FEED, ONCE THE BIGGER GOATS KNOW THEY CAN PUSH THEM AROUND THEY WILL DO IT ON A REGULAR BASIS AND THEY WILL NOT GET TO THE FOOD AND MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET INTO THE SHELTER.   I PROVIDE SEVERAL SHELTERS SO NOBODY WILL BE LEFT OUTSIDE IN BAD WEATHER.

13) PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A GOAT IF YOU HAVE THEM HOUSED AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION.  YOU CANNOT GIVE THEM THE PROPER CARE AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE IN GOOD HEALTH IF YOU DO NOT CHECK ON THEM EVERY DAY.  I DO HERD CHECKS EVERYDAY, TWICE A DAY.
